On February 26, at 3 PM EST, The Mihalik Group will present a webinar on “Member Experience Standards”, presented by Veronica Locke, BS, MHSA, TMG’s member of our NCQA consulting team. Until recently Ms. Locke was a Senior Manager of Accreditation Policy for the NCQA, her areas of expertise include quality assessment and improvement; credentialing and privileging; delegation; disease management accreditation/certification; population health management; multicultural health care and compliance with accreditation standards, including standards for health plans, managed behavioral health care organizations and credentialing verification organizations.
For 2020, NCQA made drastic changes to the Health Plan Standards & Guidelines. Among those changes are scoring and status reporting, but the standards were reorganized as well. NCQA added the Member Experience (ME) standard category to further the intent of its vision and better classify some of its requirements. As a result, NCQA eliminated the Rights and Responsibilities (RR) and Member Connections (MEM) standards categories completely and recategorized some of the Quality Improvement (QI) and Network Management (NET) standards.
During this webinar, we will review the ME standards in entirety, including the crosswalk from old to new naming conventions and any new or modified requirements that occurred as a result of the new standards year. As a note, while there are no new standards/elements, NCQA did make changes to the existing requirements that will impact scoring and will be addressed during this session.
